Books Everyone Should Read

I'm compiling a list of books/poems/short stories, etc. I have read that I think everyone should read. Of course there are many great books out there which I have yet to read, so if anyone has contributions, please comment (it'll give me good ideas of what to read next too). And as long as I keep reading and keep loving it, this list will grow, so please return.
