The Day My Family Beat My Friends At Volleyball

Memorial Day!

Today I didn't have to go to work, which in itself is just fabulous, and then I had a bunch of friends over in the afternoon to BBQ with my fam! I'm really not much of a cook...at all...so I am happy things worked out! I was worried I ruined the potato salad because I let the potatoes soak in water overnight...oops. But they weren't soggy. Them tough potatoes. And we had plenty of food, so all my worries vanished.
So we just sat around and talked and ate, then we played volleyball - My Family vs. My Friends. Of course, I was on my family's side. They needed me...just kidding. We won. I'm actually pretty sure we did not win, but once most my family left and Garyn came on our side, we were definitely kicking some trash. I should probably mention everyone who came! There was me, my fabulous family (Mom, Dad, Britt, Sam, Kat, Kaleigh, Ian...baby Maddie), Marissa (Kaleigh's BFF) Mallory, Kyle, Jay, Garyn, Crystal, J'neen, Adam, Sean, and Hannah (and two of her friends...their names escape me...Jorie and Emily?). So I didn't actually know everyone but it's always fun to meet new people. And yes, Garyn blocked my Mom once, but whatever - she showed him up in everything else (my words, not hers). And Kat's serves were simply amazing. Anyways it was just a nice afternoon with friends and family!

Later in the evening I went with some of the people who were at my BBQ to play baseball...or softball, rather. That was fun too. Then we wrapped up the evening with a movie (Night At The Museum) and I went home. What a day!
It finally felt like its really summer and I love just playing sports a lot now! If breaking my back didn't teach me enough patience and allowing people to help me and whatnot, it most definitely has made me so grateful for my body and just being able to run around and play! Life is wonderful.

P.S. Sorry I have no pictures! I'll have to see if my Mom took some or something...Posts are so boring without pictures
